Happy Thursday! Y’all.. it is SO cold here in Norman. I felt like I was in a blizzard last night (minus the snow of course), and I am dying for our gorge 70 degree, sunny weather we had been having just a week ago! It’s good preparation for my trip to New York in two weeks. Unfortunately, I won’t be attending NYFW this season because it’s starts on my birthday, and as lame as it may seem I have been waiting three years to have the ‘right of passage’ and go to The Mont at midnight with my best friends! However, even if it still won’t be fashion week I will finally be reunited with my city on the 19th as a birthday gift to myself (and I felt it was time to use my flight voucher from when I was stranded in Dallas)!
This outfit is perfect for the weather we had been experiencing last week. It’s comfortable and warm, but not suffocatingly hot. I wore a fur vest out a couple of weekends ago and let me tell y’all it was such a bad decision. It was way too hot and I spent my night dying inside hoping no one would wonder why I was so clammy. Now I’m resorting to outfits similar to this, with a lightweight but cute jacket over a top and jeans. Anthropologie has a plethora of lightweight, cute jackets! I scored this wool wrap coat after Christmas on sale and I’ve worn it so many times. I played with the brown in the jacket and wore my new, custom-made Teysha boots that I had designed while I was in New York this summer. Teysha was at Chelsea Market and had a booth where you could pick out your fabric, leather and they custom measured your foot and ankle so that they fit perfectly! I’m still working on breaking them in, but I love them and can’t wait to wear them in the fall. What do y’all think of my casual look? Have a great day and thanks for reading!
