Happy Thursday y’all! Man this week has just flown by I feel like. It’s been nice weather in New York, my best friend is back in town so my routine is slowly getting to that again, a routine, and I’m actually getting to take some time to go home this weekend! It’ll be nice to have a little mini home-cation and just chill with my family. Bring on the weekend!
Today I’m sharing this fun little gingham number for a spring staple. The black and white print is perfect for any neutral setting, and the frilly sleeves are just too fun. It’s super lightweight, has a flattering silhouette since it’s a wrap dress in a sense, and fits true to size. I paired it with neutral accessories like the classic blogger espadrille wedges from Marc Fisher, and a textured white Brahmin bag. Warmer weather calls for keeping the outfit simple, and that’s precisely what I plan on doing.
I’ve received so many kind words regarding my post the other day and sharing where my head has been at lately. Today I wanted to take a minute to express a few goals I have between now and summer, knowing we’re roughly seven weeks out. I think some of these will really help me maintain a solid mindset throughout the coming weeks so that I really do get back on track and out of this mid-life crisis I feel like I’ve been experiencing. Would love if you shared some of your goals, too! Have a great day and thanks for reading!
Focusing on getting to a solid place, physically. It’s proven that exercise really helps create a clear mindset, release endorphins, and let out stress. I loved Barry’s for as long as I was going, but my exhaustion has prevented me from going and honestly this Plantars Fascitis thing has taken a toll because it hurts so much to run! I’m excited to get back into my morning routine, while adding in some additional sculpting sorts of classes in the evenings and potentially even yoga to center myself. My goal is to go 5 days a week – primarily weekdays with a few weekends scattered in here and there.
Focusing on getting to a solid place, mentally. I’ve always been a talker. Whenever I have these mental breakdowns of sorts or any other issues I immediately call my friends and talk with them just to get every single feeling and potential situation out into the air. While my friends are phenomenal listeners, I think it’s time to turn to someone that can help translate these feelings/emotions and turn them into something more positive and/or meaningful for me to refer to when it happens again down the line. Baby steps here, and I’ve started vetting therapists in the city that come highly recommended from a podcast I listen to, We Met at Acme.
Focusing on getting to a solid place, spiritually. Now this one won’t be so easy, but I always was a church goer and find it’s so hard to go in the city. My friends that do go are Catholic, and I was raised non-denominational. My goal is to go to church in New York TWICE now between Labor Day, knowing my mom will likely get me into a church this Sunday while I’m home. I’m at a point where I have a lot of questions and this seems like the most solid solution to get the answers I’m seeking.
