Everyone knows that New York City has multiple gorgeous backdrops for any kind of scenic photo that your heart could desire. What people don’t know is how difficult it really is to snap your pictures in the middle of an extremely crowded tourist area, cue the awkward stance in many of my pictures. Blogging is an amazing way to help you break out of your shell, especially if you’re a bit on the awkward side like I am, and blogging in New York is probably the best opportunity to really break out there. I’ve taken pictures in so many tourist areas and people always stop and stare-assuming that you’re someone special/famous-and you really do get used to it after the first seven times! It’s always a bonus if they make you laugh and you land an adorable laughing shot, too.
On Saturday we took an afternoon stroll down the Highline in the Chelsea area, and it is probably one of my favorite spots in NYC. It’s an elevated garden along an abandoned railroad track and it’s right off of the river. The combination of a hot summer day, view of the water and vibrant flowers makes it the perfect destination when you want to go do something, but don’t want to spend tons of money. My mom, grandparents and I walked along the Highline a ways, got a red velvet ice cream sandwich with cream cheese ice cream (YUM), and sat at a little table across from the water. My favorite part is the area where they have water running and you can take off your shoes and cool off your feet! Sanitary? Maybe not, refreshing? Completely.
This black and white romper from Anthropologie is too perfect for words. It’s extremely lightweight despite the dark color and is perfect for high temperatures. It’s long. Yes, long enough for this 5’11” jolly-green-giant to feel comfortable walking, sitting, standing, dancing, you name it. It almost reaches mid-thigh and I could not be any more ecstatic about it! The striped bodice and scalloped shorts add the perfect amount of detailing, and the tribal printed belt allows you to subtly mix prints without completely diving in. I love the way that the black and white pops in the floral scenery of the Highline.
I can’t believe that it’s already Wednesday! Someone posted that they are moving into the Alpha Chi Omega house in two days to begin work week/rush, and I can’t believe that it’s already that time again! 17 days until I head back home, cue panic attack. Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Gorgeous gorgeous romper! I have a romper obsession and this one is perfect!
Such great photos though! I always feel a bit awkward having photos taken of myself because I'm super self conscious of people staring but I'm getting used to it!
