Checkered Layering

Happy Thursday y’all! Today is SUCH a great day because I’m heading back to New York for the weekend! I always get myself a birthday present, and what better than to spend a weekend in my favorite place, running around with some of my favorite people?! I actually can’t contain my excitement. My friends Caitlyn, Kayla and I are going to go to the Campbell Apartment (which if you’re a GG fan is a very important place to see), and other places that I haven’t been able to go to since I wasn’t 21! The one downside? It’s like a solid 10 degrees in New York… and I do NOT do cold weather, like at all. Luckily for me, I have a handy pair of leather leggings that may not leave my body the entire weekend #notsorry.
I am such a big fan of tunic tops, and this Pleione top is my all-time new favorite. It’s a sheer chiffon, so it’s lightweight and perfect if you’re in a warmer climate, but it’s also an amazing layering piece for the cooler temps we’ve been experiencing. I had planned on just pairing it with the leather leggings and tucking it in the front, but when 40 degree weather rolled around the day of my shoot with Melanie I decided to leave it untucked and throw on a faux fur vest! I’ve learned that vests can make you uncomfortably hot indoors, so pairing them with a lightweight top like this one is a win-win! Pleione is so well structured and is perfect for the working woman to go from work to play! I can’t wait to make these blouses a wardrobe staple when I work this summer.
