Happy Wednesday! Can we believe how fast this week is flying by? I’m way too excited because my family is coming to visit this weekend! Usually my mom comes a few times, but for the first visit my mom, dad and brother are coming! They haven’t been to the city in over a year, and my dad and brother haven’t really experienced my favorite spots the way my mom has so I’m so excited to show them! We have reservations all over the place over the weekend, and Sunday night I plan to take them to the area where I want to live when I move here so that they can get the feel of it. It’s supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday, so keep your fingers crossed that it goes away!
There’s nothing more confusing than New York weather, let me tell ya. One day it’s nice with a breeze and bearable to walk around in, the next day it’s more humid than Houston (what we’re currently experiencing). You have to be sure to drink a ton of water-something I’m terrible at-just to walk around. I love simple light pieces like a strappy sundress or top and shorts, but this two piece set is the ultimate warm weather outfit. It would be perfect for a tropical environment when you go on vacation or traveling somewhere, but I wore it around the High Line and Chelsea Market for a comfortable Sunday. My secret? These are the closest thing possible that you could get to pajamas and it be socially acceptable! Seriously though, they’re soft, lightweight, and I could honestly sleep in them. I love the bold pattern and bright colors, it makes it so much fun to accent. I paired my fringe earrings to bring out the yellow in the pattern and keep it bright, but I have a feeling that next time I’ll be choosing pink. I wore my new favorite wedge and love the way that it sort of dresses up the otherwise casual two piece. Taking pictures on the High Line is definitely not easy, but my friend Ellen was such a good sport maneuvering around people to get the best shots! What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!

Love this look and love the high line! I actually live right next to it- my kitchen window looks over everyone walking! Glad you're enjoying NYC. I am here for an internship as well this summer. Would love to meet! Check out my blog- Mermaidstilettos.com
