Happy Monday and first day of school y’all! AND Happy (last) first day of school to all of the seniors out there! I can’t believe I’m beginning the end of my college career today. I feel like yesterday my brother was complaining about putting carpet down in my dorm, or getting mad at all of the things that had to be moved into the sorority house. A side note: to my brother Taylor, I know you’ll probably never read this but I seriously appreciate you moving me into a new home every year during college. You don’t know how much your help means to me and I love you to the moon! Ok now back to being nostalgic, I keep looking at old pictures and laugh at how much my style has changed and I would like to think that’s thanks to my endless affair with New York. When I came into college it was basic, white lace dresses, bow shorts, colored jeans, etc. As I’ve gotten older I like to think that I turn to bright, whimsical pieces that are classic and feminine with a twist. And one of my favorite things to do? Transition into fall!
I love when fall brings the deep colors out from the back of your closet. There’s nothing I love more than a deep red or green. However, when it comes to transitioning I don’t want to jump the gun and get too excited for dark colors, so this Pleione Clothing top is perfect to get your transition fix going! The navy and shades of red scream fall, but when it’s paired with a crochet white skirt it’s still great for summer. My favorite part about this tip is the two ties in the front. I love how that adds a hint of prep. The ultimate transitional piece, however is these booties. I saw them in Nordstrom Rack and was drawn to the strappy detail, but when I saw the closed toe I immediately fell in love. I never took part in the summer bootie trend until I had these. They’re going to be great with jeans and a sweater or a suede shift dress-the options are endless! What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!

I’m obsessed with tassels so I’m loving that gold bracelet, especially because it’s with all metal accents rather than fabric or string. Looking fabulous babe! x Nicole | http://www.changeanddress.com

What a gorgeous outfit! It truly is perfect for transitioning. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, but the air was so crisp this morning when I left my apartment… I guess it’s time for me to break out some transition pieces, as well!
