Happy Wednesday y’all! Man is this week creeping by slow or what?! After a big weekend of Cinco and my new places housewarming combined with Met Monday and the aftermath I am MORE than ready for Friday to get here. It’s been so gorgeous in the city lately and all I want to do is sit outside!
Today I’m rounding up a few of my tried and true eyeshadow palettes! If you’ve been following along since college, you’ll remember that back in the day I wore nothing but a solid black Smokey eye, if any eyeshadow. Nana told me I’d regret these things one day and BOY was she right! Ever since I started working in beauty I’ve been testing ways to wear less makeup for a natural look. Don’t get me wrong, I actually prefer the full Smokey eyed look in the right capacity, but in the last year I’ve been at my company I’ve played around with different shades of browns, reds, and purples to get down my everyday look and it’s all been thanks to these palettes. The best part? They’re all at different price ranges so if you don’t want to invest in a nicer one you can start at the basics with a drug store price.
1. NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in “warm neutrals.” This was my go-to for fall and definitely a great starter palette. It’s cheaper and has the prettiest shimmer and matter Browns, golds, and reds. This is where I really became a fan of reds for my eyes!
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills “modern renaissance” palette. Another favorite because of it’s shades of red, this palette is SUPER pigmented and a blogger favorite!
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills “soft glam” palette. The perfect combo of neutrals that you can mix for the everyday, this is a new palette of mine that I love to use for day time looks.
4. Tarte’s Tartlette “Toasted” palette. I got this one around Christmas time and I’m close to hitting the pan on my favorite shades. The shades are super pigmented and have so much sparkle to them! I use them for a night out and blend the glittery shades at the bottom of my eye for a smokier look without using black.
5. Tarte’s Tartlette “clay matte” palette. This is hands down the best daytime palette. All of the shades are matte so you don’t accidentally end up looking too extra with glitter or shimmer. It’s mainly soft Browns and purples, and I love to mix the lightest brown and purple on my crease to make me look a little more awake during the week.
6. Urban Decay’s Naked “Heat” palette. Are you seeing a pattern? Clearly I like browns and reds! This palette has the perfect mix of reds and oranges and browns to make the most fun combo. It’s super pigmented, and great for a night out.
What do y’all think? Have a great day and thanks for reading!
